Affiliated Engineers Wins Award - August 29, 2005

Madison, WI – Affiliated Engineers, Inc., has received a Merit Award from The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on Architecture for Education for the master plan at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (UNC). The master plan at UNC assessed the existing campus and identified additional square footage, incorporated a regional transportation corridor into the central portion of the campus and preserved environmentally sensitive areas. This award recognizes state-of-the-art planning, emphasizes excellence in higher education environments and places an emphasis on comprehensive campus planning that demonstrates a recognized value of the planning by the institution.

SCUP is an organization that focuses on the promotion, advancement, and application of effective planning in higher education. The AIA Committee on Architecture for Education is a group of architects and professionals focused on the quality and design of educational facilities.

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. is a national consulting engineering firm specializing in the design of mechanical, electrical, piping, information technology and lighting systems for technically complex facilities.
