Mark Lee, PE, LEED® AP - Managing Director, AEI Houston.
Mark Lee, PE, LEED® AP, has become the Managing Director of AEI Houston. Mark joined AEI in 2006 as Director of Special Projects in the firm's Madison, Wisconsin, office and has since led AEI's Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery and Stony Brook University Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center projects. He has also served as director of the firm's ISO 9001:2000-compliant quality assurance/quality control program.
Mark began his career as an Air Force fighter pilot, subsequently becoming a NASA astronaut on four space shuttle missions, including the Magellan exploration spacecraft deployment and three spacewalks upgrading the Hubble Space Telescope. He was also responsible for the design and approval of an extra-vehicular self-rescue device that he tested himself in an untethered seven-hour spacewalk.
Mark joins Houston already part of the leadership teams for AEI's University of Texas Medical Branch Hurricane Ike Recovery project and for the new University of Texas Engineering and Education Research Center. His focus in the coming months will include interdisciplinary and large scale projects in science and technology, healthcare, infrastructure, and aerospace.
