Affiliated Engineers Announces New Shareholders
Madison, WI –The AEI Executive Team and Board of Directors are pleased to announce that in recognition of their past and ongoing contributions to the success of AEI, Mike Walters and Mike Bové have become shareholders of the firm.
Representing achievement at the highest levels of our profession and insightful, innovative leadership confronting significant challenges of our times, Walters and Bové embody ideals that have characterized AEI's client-focused technical consulting, design, and engineering practice since our founding. We are honored to include Mike Walters and Mike Bové in the leadership of the firm and confident in the continued excellence of their service.
Mike Walters, PE, LEED AP, joined AEI in 2000. Revisiting the guiding principles and practices of the firm as the basis for a distinct service offering, Mike led the growth of the sustainable design group he has headed since 2005. He has directed the planning and design of sustainable and energy efficient public, private, and government projects worldwide, including the landmark Cornell University climate action plan, The Ohio State University's Energy and Infrastructure Plan, and the 100-year Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery interdisciplinary research building, informed by the pre-design methodology he developed as the core of AEI's sustainable consulting services. Mike is a frequent lecturer at the University of Wisconsin, where he led the development of the sustainable building design and LEED course for the College of Engineering. He was a 2009 Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine "40 Under 40" honoree and currently serves as a member of CSE's Editorial Advisory Board.
Michael D. Bové, PE, joined AEI in 2009 with 30 years of technical design and project management experience, specializing in high energy physics research, biotech and life science manufacturing, nanotechnology facilities, and photovoltaic and renewable energies. He has worked extensively throughout the U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory system and was senior project manager and executive A/E sponsor of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Spallation Neutron Source. While serving as U.S. President of M+W Group he was engineering project manager for the University of Utah Neuroscience and Biomedical Technology research building and for the lab and research areas of the Exploration Science Building at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, and was A/E project director for the Georgia Tech Marcus Nanotechnology Research Center. Since coming to AEI, Mike has led the Science and Technology markets in the firm's Walnut Creek, California, office, joining Bill Vernon in day-to-day management, project execution, and mentoring of staff. He is currently providing project management leadership for the Stanford University Central Energy Plant project and the Genentech K6 sustainable initiative.
