King Abdullah University of Science & Technology


KAUST is a monumentally ambitious project to build an “international, graduate-level research university dedicated to inspiring a new age of scientific achievement…” while achieving a LEED® Gold certification. The project features more than twenty academic buildings, enclosing more than 370,000 square meters, as well as a new town housing students and faculty.

 

Pivotal has taken leadership of an interdisciplinary design team including architects, MEP engineers, and lighting designers in developing and implementing standards for lighting, efficiency, daylighting, and advanced lighting controls. Pivotal has designed eleven key academic buildings including the iconic campus library, the Commercial Centre and residential development, and the Marine Oceanographic facility.
