Utility Master Planning

For many campuses, the budgeting process often focuses on the physical buildings without consideration of the utility infrastructure needed to support those buildings. Developing a utility master plan that works in close coordination with a campus master plan can result in significant energy and cost savings and is an excellent tool for fiscal planning.

Affiliated Engineers is a strong advocate of utility master plan generation to help guide building development. The utility plan includes determining and documenting current site and building conditions, uses and capabilities, as well as projected future uses. In addition, utility master planning provides a systematic and useable plan for phased implementation or decommissioning of systems.
